Continuous Slot Filtration Built on Wedge Wire
ANPING RUIBEI METAL MESH FACTORY produces Johnson screen filter tubes and wedge wire screens for some of the most demanding filtration duties in industry: oil and gas wells, water well sand control, coal washing and petrochemical processing. The category includes 13 active references, each built on the continuous-slot principle that made the Johnson screen a global standard.
In a wedge wire screen, profiled V-shaped wire is wound around longitudinal support rods and welded at every intersection. The result is a two-dimensional continuous slot with a precise, constant aperture along the whole length of the tube, and a V-shaped opening that narrows toward the inside surface to resist clogging.

| Outside diameter | 25 mm to 500 mm, custom |
| Support rod | Round or profiled rod, 1.5 to 6 mm |
| Nominal length | Up to 6 m per tube, couplings available |
| End fittings | Threaded, flanged, welded ring or open ends |
Technical Advantages
- Continuous slot construction — far greater open area than perforated pipe screens of the same strength.
- Non-clogging V profile — particles that enter the slot are released back into the flow rather than trapped.
- High collapse strength — welded wire and rod structure withstands wellbore pressure and gravel pack loads.
- Precise aperture control — slot tolerance held tightly along the entire length, giving predictable sand control.
- Corrosion resistance — SS316 and 316L grades serve sour wells and chloride-rich water.
Applications
Water well screens and intake screens, oil and gas sand control, gravel pack screens, coal washing and mineral processing, desalination intake screens, resin and catalyst retention, centrifuge baskets, ion exchange nozzles and cooling water filtration. Johnson screens are also used in architectural and drainage applications where a strong, open, corrosion-resistant screen surface is required.
Manufacturing and Quality
Wires are profiled in-house and wound on automated machines that maintain consistent pitch and slot opening. Welding is controlled to avoid distortion of the profile, and each tube is checked for slot size, roundness and weld penetration before dispatch. On request the factory supplies slot gauge certificates and material test reports.
Because the profile wire is produced at the same site, custom slot sizes and unusual diameters can be quoted without long lead times. Tubes are packed in wooden cradles to protect the machined surfaces during ocean freight.
